Research Fellow

Jason graduated from The University of Newcastle, Australia, in 2000, with a BSc. [Professional] in Chemistry (Honours). Jason received the 2000 Royal Australian Chemical Institute prize for first in honours for his work on wax-based emulsion explosives. He also undertook a PhD at the same institution, the last two years of which were spent conducting research at The University of Leeds, UK. Jason's research interests are the development and extension of AFM technology, having six years experience in the field. Jason joined the Nanoscale Function Group in 2005.

Current Research Projects
- Magnetically Activated, Frequency Modulation Colloid Probe AFM
- Development of Digital Frequency Modulation AFM
- Development of Quantitative Dissipation Mapping Using Phase Modulation AFM
- Development of Low Noise AFM Instrumentation
- Investigation of the Mechanical Response of Living Cells (Dissipation Mapping and Frequency Modulation AFM)
- Surface Stress Effects on Cantilever Based Sensors
